Grandma and Grandpa visit

Once they dug themselves out of the snow and actually got to Houston, we had a great time with grandma and grandpa. The rodeo is a big deal down here- sort of like a state fair. I'd never been, so we went. It was an experience. Ask me about the pig races and mutton busting some time.

Megan's favorite was the petting zoo and pony ride.

Despite her expression, she really was having a good time. The other day on the way home from school she was talking about it. "ride horsey, OK." (When she says OK that means she's asking if we can do something and answering yes for me.) She was quite upset when we got home and there was no horsey for her to ride.

The weather was good for most of the week, and Megan got to spend alot of time outside with grandma and grandpa. Megan loves her new baby pool.

Megan's friend Cannon traded toys with her and walked all around the block with us. Just don't tell Cannon's daddy.We sponge painted eggs. I highly recommend sponging eggs for Katie and Lisa next year. Megan could actually decorate them herself this way.

The wildlife refuge was very "winny" (windy in Megan speak). Grandma, Grandpa, and Megan enjoyed looking at the birds.

Daddy just got eaten alive by mosquitos.It was a good last day before grandma and grandpa had to go home. Ok the following are just random bits of cuteness from the past couple of months when I wasn't posing regularly.

Halmuhni and Halabuhji Visit

OK OK I know its been forever since I updated the blog. I've been crazy busy with flying to DC twice, job hunting, house hunting etc. The good news is David and I both have jobs and we have a place to live next year.

While I was away the first time David's parents visited. I was sorry I didn't get to see them very much. Here are some pictures from their visit.

Ok, this is a scream of joy not terror.... really.

Megan loves to climb on the "rope bridge" which is actually metal, but still bounces. Some of the 2 and 3 year olds still won't walk on it because it moves, but Megan likes to get in the middle and bounce up and down on purpose.

These days, Megan can really make that Zebra BOUNCE.

While I was away the family took a trip to the zoo. They tell me that Megan was very cute making monkey sounds. The Giraffes were another favorite.

Christmas

We had a great visit to Ohio for Christmas. It was nice to finally be able to stay for a whole week. Here's Megan posing in her new Christmas dress. Thank you halmuhni.

Megan entertained herself, as well as mommy and daddy, by riding the people movers over and over and over again. Each time she caught sight of daddy she waved and blew kisses. She was pretty good at getting on and off, almost by herself, after about an hour of practice. Well grandma had them both on her lap for a minute, but not long enough to get the camera.
Sorry about the pink PJs AJ, but that's what happens when you have to borrow from your cousin. Don't worry, you still don't look like a girl.
Megan helped grandma cut out Christmas cookies and ice them. Once she tasted the icing it mostly went in her mouth instead of on the cookies.

Megan may not be used to the cold, but she still loved playing outside with her grandpa. She was a big help carrying the luminere's.

By the end of the morning, Megan was getting the hang of opening packages.
I think she spent at least 3 hours pushing her baby around grandma's house the first day. Here she is also trailing those ducks. Thanks grandma :-]

Thanksgiving.

Well, mommy worked for Thanksgiving so we didn't do anything exciting on the acutal day. I did Brine and cook a Turkey over the weekend. It was a lot of work but the turkey came out well, not sure I'd make the apple cider gravy again. It was a little odd.

Just after Thanksgiving Halmuhni came to visit. We had a very lovely visit. Megan loved her new MP3 player and Kitchen that she got early since we wouldn't see David's parents at Christmas. Megan can already turn on her player and select the song she wants. Here she's thinking- "you're not going to make me stop playing with this are you?"The weather was nice so we went "ousieee" to play. We must have watched Megan chase bubbles for an hour.

Megan tries very hard to blow bubbles, but so far she's only managed 1 or 2 at a time.
