Christmas Festivities

We had a wonderful Christmas at home this year with David's family. David, Megan, and I got the season started right after Thanksgiving when we all decorated our Christmas Tree. This was the first year Megan seemed to understand what Santa Claus was all about, but since we can barely get her to smile for pictures at home we didn't even try for a picture on Santa's Lap. Here's oure tree on Christmas Morning. David's Brother and his wife joined us early in the week and helped make and decorate the Christmas cookies. They were wonderful enough to come early and stay late to help us out with daycare issues during the holiday season. Megan did a great job cutting out cookies all by herself.
Megan played with the toys from her stocking while waiting for the rest of us to get ready. The cheap microphone was a big hit with our little songbird.
Uncle Michael helped unwrap all the crazy packaging from the toys.

Megan loved all of her presents.
After opening all the presents and assembling all the little pieces it was time to play.

Megan has always been a camera queen.
After Charistmas we took in the Natural History Museum. Megan enjoyed alot of the exhibits, but unfortunately fell asleep before we got to the dinosaurs.
At the museum we took in the butterfly exhibit. Megan liked the butterflies, but was scared by the misters that kept the humidity above 80 percent.

This is a Zebra butterfly. Megan also learned to spot tiger and monarch butterflies.
One butterfly landed on a girls hand and she passed it to halabuhji.
The weekend after Christmas we took a trip to the National Aquarium in Baltimore.
Megan still loves the fish. This time she also took in some of the birds in the Austrailia exhibit.

After the Aquarium we took a walk around the harbor and then had an early dinner at a nice sushi restaurant.
Megan had a great time chasing pigeons around the sidewalk.

Halmuhni celebrated her 60th birthday with us at New Years. We had a nice dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. Megan was very well behaved. (This time.)
At home we had a Mrs. Blue's Chocolate Cake and more fun, but I think everyone was in bed long before midnight.

After Halmuhni and Halabuhji headed off to California, Aunt Seung-a and uncle Michael hung around to play for a few more days.
The house seemed very empty once everyone left.
