Thanksgiving and Dance Recital.

OK I can't believe its already been a month since I last posted. We've been without grandparent help for about 3 weeks now (we miss all of you,) but except for a complete lack of sleep, we're all doing well.
We had a low key Thanksgiving at home with the four of us. We did manage to have turkey, stuffing, green beans, sweet potatoes and pumkin cake.
Megan is adjusting well to being a big sister. She helps with bath time by washing Evan's feet. They now usually take baths together with Evan in his blue tub inside the big tub. We got a nice picture of Evan turning the bath into a fountain, but didn't want to post on line.
Here are some pictures from the past month. Evan is changing and growing every day. He's starting to smile and coo, but its hard to catch on film.

"What is she doing?"

Our little ballerina.

Evan loves his bathtime.Evan will sit in his swing and staret the fish going round and round while he coos away. I don't remember Megan ever finding them this entertaining.
This is as close as I've come to catching his supercute little on film.
My big boy is already outgrowing his first round of clothes. He weighed 11 1/2 lbs at 1 month. Megan wasn't that big until almost 3 months.
We decorated the Christmas tree (well Megan and David did while I fed Evan and took pictures from the couch) over Thanksgiving weekend. We wanted to get it up early since we'll be gone the week of Christmas.

I dressed the kids up in their Christmas outfits for a little photo shoot. I didn't do too badly this time.

Megan Had her first dance recital yesterday. She's the smallest in her class but did really well. The show was well done. Probably almost 15 acts but all very short. The whole program only lasted about an hour with little kid and bigger kid acts alternating. Overall very well done, but I couldn't get any clear pictures of Megan on stage. I'll try to post the video, but I don't know if it will be any clearer.

Halloween Fun

This year for Halloween Megan dressed up as Cinderella. Her Aunt and Uncle Michael got her a dress from the disney store with all the accessories. She has played in the dress frequently and was very excited to go tirck or treating in it. Mom and Dad have better pictures from their visit but I'll have to wait for them to send me the CD before I can post them.
The princess with her pumpkin.
Mommy and Evan passed out candy while everyone else went out. Daddy came back and joined us after playing photographer.
It rained all evening but that didn't stop the fun for us. I think it did cut down on the total number of kids out that night. We were expecting more kids than we saw out that night.
Megan joined up with Anna and neighbor for a little while.
Proud Grandparents.

Playing together already.

Evan Seowook Hyun

OK so I've been trying to upload photos for a couple of days and something kept going wrong, but here we go.
Mom and Dad came in town on Wednesday night and we spent Thursday getting the house ready for the new arrival. Dad spent the week fixing odds and ends around the house and mom did tons of cooking and cleaning. It was wonderful having them around.
Here's mom and Megan at the grocery store. Megan loves pushing around the little carts. She feels all grown up.

Very early on Friday morning David and I took off for the hospital for my induction. After waiting for an hour to get into our room, things progressed fairly rapidly. My OB broke my water around 9AM and the pitocin was already going. By 11 the contractions were pretty bad and I got my epidural a little bit later. After a couple of adjustments I was very comfortable. Around 12:30 I was 5cm dilated and 95 percent effaced and the morning doc left. The afternoon doc was scheduled for a C-section at 1:30 and I was told she'd come check on me afterwards. Well at 12:45 I started having alot more pressure in my pelvis so my nurse asked my doc to check on me before the C-section. She arrived at 12:50 and Evan was delivered at 1:11PM. Everything was pretty much finished by 1:30.
This is me right before leaving for the hospital.
Evan at a few minutes old. He's got a good set of lungs.
Ahh this is better.
8lbs 5oz and 21 inches long.
The proud papa. Too bad that chair was so uncomfortable. David got even less sleep than I did.
The proud big sister. Megan has been very good with her little brother.

David and Grandpa took Megan to the Air and Space Museum while mommy and grandma stayed home with Evan.

We had a nice visit with Joanie, Cassie and Kelda Sunday night. They were in town for ballet certifications. Megan had a great time with her coousins (as always).
We took advantage of a nice warm afternoon to get a little sun.
Here's the proud grandma giving Evan his second bath. Hmmm somehow I don't have any pictures of me giving him the first one. Must be our second child. Mom I'll really need your photos downloaded.
Megan just wants to be close. She keeps saying. "Mom you have two kids now."
Ok well more later. I see I need some more close up shots of Evan. For some reason I can't upload the ones Joanie took.

September and October Update

I had to do this post before the New Baby update. In September we went up to New York to meet Megan's new cousin Landon. We thought of it as sort of a trial run to see how Megan would interact with an infant. She thought Landon was great and getting to hold him was the best.
We mostly hung out in the apartment this time. Mommy wasn't so mobile at this point.
Megan got her Cinderella costume from her Auntie and Uncle. She has worn it almost every day since. It left quite the trail of glitter around the apartment.
Megan discovered WII bowling.
We took one day to go to the Aquarium in New Jersey. I don't remember what this face is all about.
Megan graduated from the daycare to preschool this year. This is her at her cubby on the first day of preschool.
We've also started Megan in a ballet and tap class on saturday. Our little drama queen loves her dancing class. The three of us went to my company picnic this fall. Megan spent the entire time in the Moonbounce with the other kids.

This fall we took another trip out to Cox Farms for the slides, hayride, pumkins etc. This was our last big outing before the new baby was due.
We arrived early and went to feed the goats. We were obviously the first ones and the goats were very hungry. They tried to snack on our clothes.
Here we are on the hay ride.

My little pumkin.
David took Megan to great falls park one weekend while mommy napped. She came home and told me all about the bears and giraffes they collected on their hike.

Here is Megan posing with the bear she found on her walk.
