We had a wonderful visit with David's parents in San Francisco. The weather was gorgeous. David's parents threw an elaborate birthday party for Megan on Saturday complete with American and Korean traditions. I can't wait to see the photos from the professional photographer. Megan spent lots of time with her halmuhni and halabuhji, and mommy and daddy got to spend some time together touring San Francisco and Carmel. We spent the night at a nice little hotel in Carmel and took in all the shops and scenery. Daddy and even managed to get in a movie during out trip.
Megan was a little shy at first but she soon warmed up to her grandparents and had a great time showing off her waving, peek-a-boo, clapping, and sign language skills. Here we are at the mall having coffee before some shopping. Mommy, daddy and halabuhji spent Friday evening blowing up 100 ballooons for Megan's Birthday party. Halmuhni was busy preparing food for the party.
Megan wore her traditional outfit for the photos and the first hour of the party, then she changed into another dress for lunch and cake. We had a chocolate orange almond cake that everyone thought was fabulous. Megan enjoyed it as well. Aunt Seung-a was an instant favorite with Megan.
David and I escaped to Carmel with Seung-a and Michael for some adult bonding time.
This is the hotel we stayed in and the beach nearby. The water was icy cold, but after the Houston heat we didn't mind a little chill.
Megan did very well her first night away from mommy and daddy. We were sorry the visit was over so quickly.

Ang- Megan may have a Korean complexion but that face she is making in the last picture with Dave's mom reminds me of a picture I have seen of you when you were little!
Love you~
